Surplus was designed for both manual entry or automatic sync transaction workflows. Regardless of your preferred method, you'll find adding and categorizing your transactions fast and convenient

There are several areas in the app where you can launch the transaction entry experience:
By tapping on the "+" button from the Dashboard or Transactions screens
By tapping on the "Add Transaction" button when viewing a specific bucket.
The transaction entry experience begins with the an amount input screen:
Above the displayed amount is a toggle for selecting the transaction type. The transaction type determines how the app will calculate your left over spend.
Expense: Represents transactions where money is flowing out of your account. This is the default and most common transaction type.
Income: Transactions that represent money flowing into your account. Common examples are salary payments and refunds.
Transfer: Represents transactions that involve transferring assets internally between your accounts. Transactions with a transfer type are not included or factored in when calculating your current or leftover spend. For example, if you pay your credit card's full statement amount every cycle, then you should record the payment as a transfer to avoid duplicate spend.
When selecting Transfer, you can also set whether its money flowing in or out of ur account by tapping on the arrow to the right of the amount

The final step in recording your expenses involves setting a transaction date with the option to name it and set any recurring behavior. Setting a transaction date in the future will schedule the transaction for that date and can be viewed/edited when looking at a bucket's "Upcoming Transactions"

Each transaction belongs in a , which is a form of grouping similarly themed transactions. Buckets are used to determine your Spend Profile and set
